§ Mr. Onslowasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what increase or decrease in staff there has been in the Department under his control since 16th October, 1964; and what increase or decrease he anticipates in the period up to 15th October, 1965.
§ Mr. CroslandAt 1st April this year, the increase in the staff of my Department since 16th October, 1964, was 265. This figure includes 200 staff from the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research who became part of my staff on 1st April. The figure also includes the staff of the University Grants Committee and of the Victoria and Albert and Science Museums. I anticipate that the increase between 1st April and 15th October, 1965, will be a further 80.
