HC Deb 04 June 1964 vol 695 c186W
38. Dr. Bray

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will introduce legislation to ensure that attachment of earnings orders is applied without interruption on changes of employment.

Mr. Woodhouse

No. An attachment of earnings order is directed to the named employer of a person who has defaulted in his obligations under a maintenance order, and requires the employer to make deductions calculated with regard to the employee's earnings and expenses. When the employee changes his employment it is essential that the matter should again be brought before the court so that any necessary adjustments may be made to take into account any changes in earnings or other circumstances.
