§ Mr. Spriggsasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs if he will set up an independent body to inquire into the methods used for the disposal of coastal towns sewage, and the extent to which such coastal local authorities treat their sewage, especially in cases where sewage is pumped or emptied into the sea.
§ Mr. CorfieldMy right hon. Friend does not think that an inquiry on these lines is necessary. As I said in reply to a Question by the hon. Member for Stalybridge and Hyde (Mr. Blackburn) on 20th July, an investigation into ways of improving the design and siting of sewage outfalls is already being carried out.
