§ Mr. Bostonasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what representations he has received concerning Kent, and in particular the Isle of Sheppey, to amend the proposals in the South-East Study and White Paper; what is his policy on these representations; when he will announce a final decision about an amended South-East plan; and when action will be taken to implement it.
§ Mr. CorfieldThe Kent County Council and 11 other authorities in the 459W county have sent my right hon. Friend comments on the Study. These comments will be taken into account before final decisions are taken and discussions will be held with the authorities as necessary. He hopes that final decisions will be taken by about the turn of the year; the date of implementation of particular proposals will have to be decided in the light of local factors and of the phasing of the whole programme.
