§ 39. Mr. Hector Hughesasked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance if he is aware of the disparities in the pensions of limbless ex-Service men in England and Scotland, respectively, and that these disparities inflict hardship on those in Scotland; and if he will take steps to remove these disparities.
§ Mr. WoodNo. Disablement is assessed by comparing the condition of the man when he is disabled by service with the condition of a normal healthy man of the same age. This basis of assessment is the same wherever he lives.
108WThere do not therefore seem to be any disparities to remove, but I shall be glad to consider any particular case the hon. and learned Member has in mind.
