§ 47. Mr. Turtonasked the Minister of Overseas Development what was the outcome of Her Majesty's Government's recent discussions with the President of Zambia regarding the British aid programme for that country.
§ Mrs. CastleAs I informed my hon. Friend the Member for Willesden, West (Mr. Pavitt) in a Written Reply on 20th November, the British Government is to make a grant of £1 million towards the capital cost of the Academic buildings, staff housing and equipment of the new University of Zambia in Lusaka. There are to be further discussions between the two Governments in January, 1965, to consider in detail financial problems arising from the dissolution of the Federation and the development needs of Zambia.
