§ Mr. Maddanasked the Lord Privy Seal whether Her Majesty's Government, as a member of the Council of Europe, will make a financial contribution towards the work being done by the College of Europe at Bruges in furthering understanding among the peoples of Europe.
§ Mr. HeathYes. Her Majesty's Government believe that the College of Europe at Bruges has an important part to play in promoting co-operation among European countries in the field of higher education. Subject to Parliamentary approval, it is accordingly proposed to make to the College an annual grant of £2,500 starting in the current financial year, and Parliament will be asked in due course to vote the amount by means of a Supplementary Estimate.
