§ Mr. Dempseyasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he is aware of the urgent need to build a new Protestant primary school at Shawhead, Coatbridge, as large numbers of children have neither school nor transport facilities to other schools; and if he will consult the Lanarkshire Education Authority with a view to approving of this project being started in 1964.
§ Mr. NobleProtestant primary pupils from the Shawhead area at present attend Whifflet Primary School, approximately one mile away. The education authority intends to build a new primary school at Shawhead and a site is already available. The priority to be accorded to the project is primarily a matter for the education authority, which must of course also have regard to other urgent needs elsewhere in its area.
