Mr. Millanasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many applications he has now received in the last year from local authorities for financial assistance under the Local Employment Act for the clearance of derelict sites; how many applications were granted; and what was the acreage concerned both in total applications and in applications granted.
§ Mr. NobleDuring the past 12 months seven applications covering 53 acres have been received, and four covering 28 acres have been approved. Two applications covering 15 acres are under consideration, and grant has been offered for three further schemes covering 214 acres, which have not yet been formally submitted.
