§ 54. Mr. Whitlockasked the Secretary of State for War if he will give details of the amounts of payment made to industry to maintain reserve capacity for arms production in the last five years.
§ Mr. ProfumoWe have made payments ranging from £200,000 in 1958–59 to £150,000 in 1962–63 to firms to maintain the reserve capacity which we own in agency factories. The reserve capacity is for explosives, propellants and chemicals.
