§ Mr. Denzil FreethUnder the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research, the Geological Survey of Great Britain is carrying out a geological survey on behalf of the Government of Northern Ireland. The D.S.I.R. also provides grant assistance to the Linen Industry Research Association.
146WTwenty-three Northern Ireland research workers are in receipt of research grants from United Kingdom Research Councils—eighteen from D.S.I.R., and five from the Medical Research Council—also two D.S.I.R. fellowships and two D.S.I.R. studentships are held in Northern Ireland. The responsibilities of the Agricultural Research Council and the Nature Conservancy do not extend to Northern Ireland.
