HC Deb 26 March 1963 vol 674 c145W
Mr. Pentland

asked the Parliamentary Secretary for Science what recent consultations he has had on proposals to extend civil development contracts awarded by the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research in the North-East of England.

Mr. Denzil Freeth

As my noble Friend informed a number of organisations when he visited their laboratories on his recent tours of the North-East, the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research would welcome well founded applications for civil development contracts from this, as indeed from any, area. A statement setting out the principles governing the award of development contracts has been circulated to the Federation of British Industries and to the Directors of all Research Associations and further copies may be had on application to the D.S.I.R.
