HC Deb 24 July 1963 vol 681 c179W
81. Mr. Gourlay

asked the Minister of Labour how many redundant linoleum workers registered as being unemployed at the Kirkcaldy office in July 1963; and how many were refused unemployment benefit.

Mr. Hare

In the three weeks ended Monday, 22nd July, 1963, five redundant linoleum workers registered as being unemployed at the Kirkcaldy Employment Exchange. All made claims for unemployment benefit on 15th July, and decisions on the claims are awaited.

Mr. Gourlay

asked the Minister of Labour how many persons previously employed in the linoleum industry were registered as unemployed at the latest available date; and how many were unemployed for more than eight weeks, and for twelve weeks, respectively.

Mr. Hare

543 on 10th June, 1963. I regret that an analysis by duration of unemployment is not available.
