asked the Postmaster-General how many new post offices have been opened since January 1962; and how many have been modernised.

Since January 1962, 56 new public Crown Post Offices have been opened, most of them in new buildings. In the same period we have modernised 140 older public offices, and work is in progress on about 40 others.
