§ 55. Mr. Denis Howell
asked the Minister of Health what action he is now taking to implement the report of the study group on the work, training and qualifications of hospital engineers which reported to him in June, 1962; why the appropriate Whitley Council has been asked to make no pronouncements upon salaries and wage structure pending consideration of the report; if he is aware of the hardship this delay is causing to this section of Health Service employees; when an award will be made; and if he is aware that the present wage structure makes recruitment difficult.
§ Mr. Braine
I cannot yet add to my right hon. Friend's reply to the hon. Member for Glasgow, Govan (Mr. Rankin), on 10th December last; no such request has been made; I am not aware of any hardship but some hospital authorities have difficulty in filling vacancies satisfactorily.
