H.M. Inspectors and my Department's Curriculum Study Group are in touch with the experimental work now being done by a number of agencies, including some universities, designed to improve the teaching of mathematics in schools. H.M. Inspectors are also helping to promote new approaches to the102W subject both in the advice they offer to the schools and through courses for mathematics teachers.
