§ 47. Mr. G. M. Thomsonasked the President of the Board of Trade how many days' notice he gave to representatives of the jute industry in Dundee to meet him in London on 9th July; how many days he then gave them to consider his proposals; and why he imposed such a timetable.
§ Mr. ErrollI wished the jute industry to know of the Government's proposals as soon as they were ready. The industry's representatives were therefore asked on 5th July if they would meet my hon. Friend the Minister of State on the 9th. My hon. Friend is visiting Dundee today to hear their reactions to the proposals. I see nothing unreasonable in this.
