HC Deb 25 October 1962 vol 664 c209W
Mr. Hale

asked the Minister of Pensions and National Insurance what regulations he proposes to make to prevent such events as those occurring in the case of a seriously disabled Chadderton octogenarian, whose wife's allowance of 25s. a week has been disallowed and to whom a claim for repayment of £10 10s. 0d. made on the ground that the wife's earnings exceeded the maximum by 6d. per week.

None. The hon. Member will now be aware that when the pensioner to whom he refers exercised his right of appeal to the Local Tribunal, the Tribunal decided not to require him to repay the sum involved.
