§ Mr. Swinglerasked the Minister of Education if he will now name a date on which work will begin on the construction of a college of further education in Newcastle-under-Lyme.
§ Sir E. BoyleThe first instalment of the Newcastle-under-Lyme College of Further Education was included in the 1962–63 building programme. A schedule of accommodation was approved, but 189W the local education authority subsequently decided that substantial amendments were necessary to provide for increased demands particularly for workshop accommodation. A revised schedule of accommodation was approved last June and the authority submitted sketch plans on 17th October. Everything possible will be done to clear them quickly.
