§ Sir E. BoylePrecise information is not collected by my Department and much depends on the financial policies of individual authorities, for instance about the period for which loans are taken. About 90 per cent. of the capital expenditure of local education authorities on educational building as a whole is met by loan, and the interest element accounts for about half of the total of loan charges. Separate information is not available for schools.
