| The rate of subsidy is normally either £8 or £24 for each approved house, depending on the resources of the authority; for authorities with particularly limited resources there are higher rates, ranging up to £40. In the case of houses built for overspill needs the rate of subsidy is £28 a year; houses for the urgent needs of industry receive £24. |
