HC Deb 02 March 1962 vol 654 c185W
Mr. A. Lewis

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what estimate he has made of the percentage rise in local authority house building expenditure which would have been needed in each of the years from 1951 to maintain an annual 5 per cent. increase of local authority houses.

Mr. Rippon

The table below gives, I hope, the desired information. The figures for expenditure are taken from the Local Government Financial Statistics, except that for 1960–61 which is provisional. They include all expenditure of a capital nature by housing authorities in England and Wales except expenditure on repayment of debt.
