Campbellasked the Minister of Transport what is the number of certificates of officers of the merchant service and fishing fleet, respectively, which have been cancelled or suspended by courts of formal investigation hold under the Merchant Shipping Act, 1894, during the years 1960 and 1961, respectively; and. in the ease of suspension, what was the period of such suspension.
§ Mr. MarplesDuring 1960 one officer of the merchant service had his certificate suspended for two years; five officers of the fishing fleet had their certificates suspended, three for two years, one for eighteen months and one for one year. No certificates were cancelled. During 1961 four officers of the merchant service had their certificates suspended, one for eighteen months, one for one year, one for six months and one for three months: two officers of the fishing fleet had their certificates suspended, both for one year. No certificates were cancelled.
