HC Deb 05 December 1962 vol 668 c189W
94. Mr. Hayman

asked the Minister of Labour whether he will make a statement on the unemployment situation at Falmouth.

Mr. Hare

The number of workers registered as unemployed rose from 627 on 15th October to 1,462 on 12th November, mainly as the result of discharges from the ship-repairing firm, Messrs. Silley Cox. I understand that the firm expect work on further orders over the next three weeks, and this should substantially reduce the level of unemployment.
