§ 75. Mr. G. Thomasasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether he will withhold permission for demolition 42W of houses in Riverside, Cardiff, by the Cardiff City Council until further consideration has been given to the compensation payable to all the owner-occupiers concerned; and whether he will make a statement.
Dr. HillThe Council has not yet submitted to me any slum clearance orders or compulsory purchase orders for the Riverside area. Since I shall have to adjudicate on any orders that may be submitted I cannot make a statement. Compensation does not come within my jurisdiction but remains to be settled between the parties concerned or, failing agreement, by the Lands Tribunal.
