§ 46. Mr. Gowerasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what are his latest estimates of the numbers and proportions of owner-occupiers of dwellings in England and Wales, respectively.
Dr. HillI estimate that in mid-1960 the number of owner-occupied dwellings in England and Wales was 6 million (or approximately 41 per cent of the total) and was increasing at about 250,000 a year. I cannot give figures for England and Wales separately.
