§ Mr. John Hallasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs what is the total acreage of land available for housing in the home counties; and how long this will last at the present rate of building.
Dr. HillOn such information as is available, the best overall estimate I can make is that there is land to last about eight years on the basis of present allocations and approvals. I am in touch with the planning authorities on the allocation of further land up to 1981, and the supply of land for housing will be one of the factors to be re-assessed in the examination of the planning needs of the south-east generally.
