HC Deb 30 March 1961 vol 637 c159W
62. Mr. Dodds

asked the Civil Lord of the Admiralty what is the number of houses belonging to his Department without tenants at the latest convenient date; how many have been empty for over six months; what is the longest period a house has been without a tenant; where the empty houses are situated; and what it is proposed to do with them.

Mr. C. Ian Orr-Ewing

At present 97 houses are without tenants; five of these have been vacant for over six months; the longest period is eight months. The houses are at Dale and Kete in Pembrokeshire, Risley, Lancashire, and at Chatham, Kent. We are examining how many of the quarters can be used for the Navy or other Government Departments; any not used would be let or sold.
