asked the Minister of Defence why the net expenditure of the Atomic Energy Authority on research, development and production of weapons-grade fissile material and nuclear weapons has not been included in the total Defence Estimates for 1961–62.

Mr. Watkinson

As in previous years, the Defence Budget for 1961–62 provides for payments to the Atomic Energy Authority for fissile material and other nuclear components of weapons for delivery to the Services and for research and development undertaken for the Ministry of Aviation to meet Service requirements.
