57. Mr. Bellenger

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he has now come to a decision regarding the recommendations contained in the Report of the Tucker Committee on Proceedings before Examining Justices; and whether he proposes to introduce legislation this session.

Mr. R. A. Butler:

I am still considering the recommendations of this Committee, and their relationship to other proposals which have been made about proceedings before examining justices, but I have no plans for introducing legislation this Session.
