HC Deb 17 February 1961 vol 634 c159W
55 and 56. Mr. Shinwell

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) how many convictions were registered in 1960 against bona fide workmen's clubs in the County of Durham;

(2) how many members of bona fide workmen's clubs in the County of Durham were convicted of offences committed on club premises in 1960.

Mr. Vosper:

A club as such cannot be convicted, but may be struck off the register on any of the grounds specified in section 144 of the Licensing Act, 1953. None was struck off in the County of Durham in the year ended 30th June, 1960. Information is not available about the number of convictions of club members.
