HC Deb 09 February 1961 vol 634 cc77-8W
13. Mr. J. Callaghan

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what answer he has sent to the Penarth Branch of the Electrical Association for Women about their proposal to ease financial restrictions on the purchase of labour-saving domestic appliances.

Mr. Barber:

My right hon. Friend cannot trace having received any such proposal from the Penarth Branch of the Association. But the headquarters of the association did write to him about this subject and I would refer the hon. Member to my right hon. Friend's letter to him of 2nd February.
