§ 69. Sir P. Agnewasked the Minister of Transport whether in view of the continuing liability of the town of Upton-on-Severn to such severe flooding from the River Severn that for substantial periods access to the town is completely cut off other than by water or from the air, he will give, as a matter of urgency, renewed consideration to including the Tunnel Hill raised road scheme in the 1962–63 programme, even at the cost of deferring other schemes of lesser urgency.
§ Mr. MarplesIn the light of representations I have received concerning the effects of the closure of the railway to Upton-on-Severn I am considering in consultation with the highway authority, the Worcestershire County Council, whether this scheme can be advanced in my programme.
