This scheme is administered by the Crofters Commission on behalf of the Secretary of State and offers to crofters, assistance for cropping and land improvement, roads and water supplies, fencing and miscellaneous works at rates of grant which are generally more favourable than those available to farmers under broadly corresponding schemes.
