§ 73. Mr. Stonehouseasked the Secretary of State for the Colonies why applications for endorsements of passports held by British subjects and British-protected persons from Kenya, Uganda, and Tanganyika have to be referred to the principal immigration authorities in those territories before these endorsements are allowed.
Mr. MacleodThe Governors of Kenya, Uganda, and Tanganyika, in exercise of the Royal Prerogative, issue passports to persons who by reason of birth or other qualification are deemed to "belong" to their respective territories, and also decide what facilities should be endorsed on the passports so granted.
