Following is the information requested:
AMOUNTS PLEDGED FOR 1961 TO THE VOLUNTARY FUNDS OF THE UNITED NATIONS (AS AT 20TH OCTOBER. 1960) $ Expanded Programme of Technical Assistance 88,872,441 United Nations Special Fund United Nations Relief and Works Agency 17,870,235 United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees 2,961,906 No pledging conference has been held in respect of the United Nations Children's Fund; the total of governmental contributions for 1960, as at 30th November, was $20,916,036.
Details of pledges to the United Nations voluntary fund for budgetary aid to the Congo were given in reply to a Question by the hon. Member for Chigwell (Mr, Biggs-Davison) on 12th December. In addition to the $3 million which Her Majesty's Government have already contributed, they have undertaken to produce a further sum of not less than $2 million in the early spring, provided that a further examination of the requirements will show that further contributions would be appropriate and that other countries are doing their share.
