HC Deb 14 April 1960 vol 621 c171W
Commander Pursey

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government and Minister for Welsh Affairs whether he is aware that the water used in the swimming pool at Maldon, Essex, is sewage-polluted water; and what steps he will take to ensure that fresh water is used and so reduce the risk of infection to bathers.

Sir K. Joseph

My information is that the salt water used is regularly chlorinated and analysed. No risk to health has been reported, but if the hon. and gallant Member has information that there is a risk, I should be glad to have details.
