The river board is effectively reducing pollution here. My right hon. Friend will consider any proposals submitted including one shortly expected for the full treatment of the Borough's sewage discharge to this river.

§ Sir K. JosephThe river is inspected at monthly intervals. I am informed that on 14th July, 1959, the river was inspected on behalf of the Essex River Board at a time when its temperature reached 21° centigrade; and that the sample of water taken was found to be reasonably clean river water.
