§ Mr. Greenasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer the cost to the Revenue in the year ended 5th April, 1960, of initial allowances and investment allowances separately; and the estimated cost of the same allowances in the year to 5th April, 1961.
§ Mr. BarberAbout £140 million and £12 million respectively in 1959–60 and £95 million and £90 million in 1960–61. The effect of initial allowances is that smaller annual allowances are given in subsequent years.
