§ Mr. Lawsonasked the Lord Advocate whether he has completed his investigations into the personal credit scheme as operated by the hire-purchase firm of N. G. Napier Limited; and whether he is now ready to start criminal proceedings against that firm.
§ The Lord AdvocateI have investigated a number of complaints in regard to the personal credit scheme referred to. As a result, proceedings have been instituted against N. G. Napier Limited for alleged contravention of section 5 (2) of the Moneylenders Act, 1927.
