HC Deb 04 November 1959 vol 612 c57W
99. Mr. Holman

asked the Postmaster-General why a large proportion of 15,000 election communications collected from 349, Cambridge Heath Road, London, E.2, on Wednesday, 30th September, were not delivered in the E.2 district until Tuesday, 6th October.

Miss Pike

Candidates election addresses, official poll cards and ballot papers and other special postings more than doubled the work at Bethnal Green during the period 30th September to 6th October and deliveries unfortunately could not be completed as planned. I am sorry if the hon. Member was in any way inconvenienced by our failure to deliver the communications in question as quickly as we should have liked
