asked the Minister of Labour how many men were employed by the National Coal Board in the Shotts, Harthill, Salsburgh, Cleland area in 1951; how many are now employed; and how many will be employed in 1960.

In 1951 there were 4,000 men on colliery books in the districts mentioned compared with 2,150 at present and an estimated number of 2,120 at the beginning of 1960.
