HC Deb 13 May 1959 vol 605 cc157-8W
Mr. Patrick Maitland

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he is aware that another road accident occurred at Braidwood Bridge, Lanarkshire, on 25th April; how many accidents involving personal injury have occurred there since the war; how many involved fatalities; and if he will now state when the bridge will be reconstructed.

Mr. Maclay

Since 1st February, 1946, there have been 26 accidents at or near Braidwood Bridge in which 13 persons have been injured, none of them fatally. As regards the reconstruction of the bridge there is still nothing I can add to the reply that I gave my hon. Friend on 20th November, last.
