§ Mr. Iain MacleodNo. The functions and status of shop stewards are primarily the responsibility of the trade unions and are also to some extent the subject of joint agreements between the unions and the employers concerned. Any question of misuse of shop stewards' powers would be for the appropriate union to deal with or for joint discussion between the union and the employers according to the circumstances.
