§ 71. Mr. Biggs-Davisonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what consultations he had with members, and representatives, of the former British community in Egypt concerning the conditions necessary for a financial agreement with that country.
Mr. AmoryThe general issues arising in the financial negotiations with Egypt were discussed at a series of meetings between representatives of the Departments concerned and the representatives of persons and organisations with interests in Egypt. It would not have been practicable, however, to consult such persons and organisations at every stage in the negotiations.
§ 72. Mr. du Cannasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will now make a statement regarding the negotiations for an Anglo-Egyptian financial agreement.
