HC Deb 02 March 1959 vol 601 c7W
62. Mr. Awbery

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will introduce legislation establishing uniform machinery for medical inspection and appeal in all cases where rates paid to farmworkers are reduced by agricultural wages committees on account of backwardness or incapacity.

Mr. Godber

My right hon. Friend thinks that these are matters which should be considered in the first place by the Agricultural Wages Board, which has certain powers of direction over agricultural wages committees, and I am therefore bringing this question to its notice.
