asked the Minister of Labour what are the latest numbers of people registered as unemployed and of vacant jobs in the Reading, Newbury and Hungerford districts compared with a year ago; and how many persons have remained unemployed for three months or longer.

The monthly analyses according to duration of unemployment distinguish those who have been unemployed for two weeks and eight weeks. The numbers on the registers of the Reading, Newbury and Hungerford local offices who, at 12th January, 1959, had been continuously unemployed for more than eight weeks were as follows:
