§ 100. Mr. Lewis
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what protests and objections he has received at Her Majesty's Government reaching an agreement with the Egyptian Government whereby the British Government and British interests lose control of the Suez Base, military installations, stores and equipment, the Suez Canal and other financial assets.
§ Mr. Erroll
I have received no protests or objections about the readiness of Her Majesty's Government to reach an agreement on reasonable terms with the Government of the United Arab Republic, based on the fact that we do not at present enjoy control over the assets to which the hon. Member refers.
