asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs to what extent Her Majesty's Government has accepted the plan drawn up by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organisation for increased agricultural and industrial production in the Mediterranean region, with a view to removing want within fifteen years; and if he will make a statement.

At the Tenth Conference of the Food and Agriculture Organisation, the United Kingdom delegation voted in favour of the final resolution on the project. This resolution invited the Director-General of F.A.O. to organise intergovernmental consultations to frame detailed proposals. This work is now going on.
