§ 84. Mr. Steeleasked the Minister of Labour the total number of registered unemployed persons in Dumbarton and the area covered by his office at Alexandria at the latest convenient date; and what percentage of the insured population this represents.
§ Mr. HeathAt 16th November, 645 persons were registered as unemployed at employment exchanges and youth employment offices at Dumbarton and 560 at Alexandria. Separate percentage rates of unemployment are not computed for these two areas, but for the combined area of Dumbarton, Alexandria, Bowling and Helensburgh the rate was 5.4 per cent.
